Marriage and Sexuality:
The Bible’s account of creation reveals that God designed male and female in His own image. Sex and gender are aspects of humanity that God created in harmony with one another. According to Scripture, both singleness and marriage are gifts of God. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman and is a symbol of Christ’s relationship with the Church. A biblical marriage is the only context for God-honoring sexual expression.
The Bible is not quiet on addressing sexual expression. Sexual immorality is mentioned multiple times by Jesus. It is addressed in the life of the early church in the book of Acts, and discussed many times across the letters of the New Testament. Any sexual expression outside of a covenant marriage between a man and a woman is sexual immorality.
God has set boundaries for healthy sexual expression. While many people have crossed God’s boundaries, restoration and renewal are found by embracing both the grace and truth of Jesus and the empowering work of the Holy Spirit. We firmly believe that walking with God means walking His way in every area of our lives.
