About Us

Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family

Our Story

Celebration Church began in January 2009 in a living room as a few families gathered together to pursue being the kind of people who patiently and lovingly grow in Christ together.

The official launch took place in September 2009 at the Tinseltown movie theater. The theater served as a place where people who had given up on church might feel comfortable connecting with God.

The message and ministry began to impact more and more lives. We soon moved into the largest theater in the building. Our desire is to continue to hold up the grace and forgiveness found only in Jesus to be both the beginning and the end to truly living the life that God created us to live.

In the fall of 2014, Celebration Church saw an opportunity to provide space for more people to grow in knowing God better and trusting Him more. There was a vacant furniture store located at 2639 Sunset Dr with a total of 50,200 sq ft sitting on 5 acres of paved land. After many twists and turns, the property ended up in foreclosure and we were able to purchase the building at courthouse auction.

In December of 2016, in the middle of bare studs and unfinished sheetrock, we had our first service in our new home.

Our story is still in its early stages, but we are excited as we pursue this adventure of living life in Christ. We would love for you to come along for the journey and add to our story.

What we believe

OUR MISSION

To help people to know God better and trust Him more.

OUR MEANS

We purpose to grow with God by continually asking two key questions of ourselves and allowing God’s word and the Holy Spirit to give us the answers:

Where are we?

Genesis 3:9 “But the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’”

Which way forward from here?

Philippians 3:14 “I go forward to the mark, even the reward of the high purpose of God in Christ Jesus.”

OUR CORE VALUES

Our desire is to keep Jesus as the focus in all that we do.

Jesus was incredibly authentic, relevant, enjoyable, accepting and powerful.

1. We believe in the value of each person uniquely made in the image of God.

2. We believe that loving relationships should be at the core of every area of church life.

3. We believe that the anointing in the teaching and in our worship is vital.

4. We believe that Christ followers should be authentic and have a passion for continuous growth. Authenticity comes from being honest about where we are. Growth comes from God showing us which way forward from here.

5. We believe that the church should be culturally relevant while being doctrinally pure.

6. We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people.

7. We believe that a church should operate in a unified community of servants where men and women use their gifts.

WHAT WE BELIEVE…

Here is what we believe and some scripture references that point to why we believe it…

We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11

We believe that Jesus is both 100% God and 100% man. That God was in Jesus reconciling the world to Himself. He was born of a virgin, He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

John 1:1,14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; II Corinthians 5:19; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; I Timothy 2:5, Matthew 1:18, 25; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 23-25; Luke 1:27-35

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

Genesis 1:26-31, Romans 3:23

We believe that in order to receive the forgiveness and the 'new life' made possible by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus you must simply believe that it was done for you.

Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22, Acts 2:21, 2:38, 3:19; I John 1:9

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to allow God's Word and His Spirit to complete the development of Christ's character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is empowered to live a life that reflects the heart of God.

I Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; II Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18, II Thessalonians 2:1-3, Romans 8:29, 12:1-2, Hebrews 2:11

We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit given at Pentecost. He is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His ascension, to empower the Church to preach the good news of his grace and love throughout the whole earth.

Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4,17,38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6

We believe that the Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and lift-up the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Good News of Jesus. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters.

Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11,12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; II Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10

We believe in water baptism and that every new convert is instructed by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38

We believe that the Lord's Supper is a unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross.

Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively.

Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; I Corinthians 12:9, 28; Romans 11:29, John 3:3-11; II Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10, II Timothy 1:7, 2:11; Philippians 4:7-8; Romans12:2; Isaiah 26:3, Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24, Joshua 1:8; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Psalm 34:10, 84:11; Philippians 4:19

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to love God, and love others.

Mark 12:30-31, John 13:35, Acts 20:24, Phil. 3:13-14, 1Peter 4:10, 1 Cor. 12:7, Eph. 4:11, 13-14

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; II Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; I Peter 1:4, Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
